Effects
Chemdawg effects: what people report
Leafly users most often report feeling euphoric, relaxed and tingly, and Leafly rates the strain mostly energizing; Weedmaps describes a fast cerebral charge that settles into body relaxation, and AllBud pairs a clear head with a heavy body feel. Dry mouth, dry eyes and dizziness are the most-reported downsides.1,2,3

The cuts are described differently
Leafly’s cut pages do not agree with each other: Chem 91 is happy, talkative and euphoric; Chemdawg #4 relaxed, tingly and euphoric; and Chem’s Sister, filed as a sativa, creative, energetic and focused.8,9,10 The brand that grows the original cuts describes Chem 91 as a happy, euphoric, social head buzz and Chem D as a heavy hitter with a jolt of creative, dreamy energy; Canna Provisions says Chem D’s uplifting, creative energy gradually gives way to full-body relaxation.11,12
Energizing or sleepy?
It depends on the cut and the source. Leafly places Chemdawg on the energizing side of its calming-to-energizing scale and lists Chem’s Sister as a sativa, while AllBud files the strain as 55% indica with a sleepy body high and Weedmaps describes a cerebral start that settles into body relaxation.1,2,3,10 Reports vary partly because what is sold as Chemdawg varies (see genetics).
Why two batches can feel different
Potency alone varies widely: one in ten lab-tested batches came in under 15.86% THC and one in ten above 28.70%, and state medians ranged from 15.75% in Hawaii to 29.22% in California.13 The label matters too: Chem D flower had a median of 24.73% (54 tests) against 19.15% (208 tests) for plain “Chemdawg” labels.13 Add the breeder’s estimate that about 85% of product sold under the name is not the real strain, and the same name can cover noticeably different flower.14
